PhotoHunt Theme: Unique/Funny Signs
The theme this week is "unique/funny signs" and I found some signs that weren't actually funny but I was somewhat amused when I read them as they were posted near each other
at the entrance to the Route 66 State Park in Eureka, Missouri. And, unfortunately due to the flooding, the park was really closed. This last one my husband just liked and asked me to photograph it - I guess it would go under the "unique" category! It was hanging in the same area by the Visitor's Center at the Route 66 State Park in Eureka, Missouri. This park is almost 420 acres and the Visitor's Center was actually built in 1935 as a roadhouse called Bridgehead Inn. There are also displays that show how the former resort community of Times Beach became the park as it is today. I found out when setting up my post today the Zoey is lost in Kentucky somewhere and hopefully will be found soon. Here is the information:
This beagle belongs to TNChick. She does the Photo Hunters every week.
Her precious Zoey is missing. Last seen Tuesday April 22.
If, by slim chance, this is being read by someone in that area… and you find her
(4 year old, female, spayed, tri-color, was/is wearing a black harness)
contact TNChick via email PLEASE.

I think your husband got an idea here.
Excellent entry.
PS. Love your Cats
That's a neat Key sign!
Hope the park has opened by now.
The Show Me state....great signs. Gotta love it. [tho, not the flooding of course]
My signs are posted, hope you can drop by and take a guess at the game?!!!
They are funny side by side.

excellent entry
LOL, so much for being welcome there :)
Good take on the theme. I like all of your choices.
How ironic!
Mine's up too :)
State parks have interesting signs. We wish we could have photographed some of our state park signs.
Contradictory signs--funny when that happens.
Isn't it inconsiderate how nature interferes with our appreciation of nature :)
That key really is a UNIQUE SIGN !
It is weird that the sign is still showing when the park is closed. They should have covered it up for the time being. I guessed sometimes signs are not taken up seriously :P

I think you would enjoy the Sunday meme I am a member of, check out my blog and visit Misty Dawn.
Have a great day.

I like the key, but I love the juxtaposition of the other signs. Reminds me of when I was wandering through a cathedral, soaking up peace and age, and a Verger came up to ask me to leave "We're closing for Evensong" he said!
Thanks for visiting my signs. As far as I can work out the sign says "No Passing" as the root word may be scoith which may mean pass (can you tell I have difficulties with the Irish language?)
Do you suppose the park really was open, but they just didn't want you to know it?
That key sign does llok very interesting. It will probably be hanging in an Cracker Barrel Store someday.
Great choices. Sorry for the delay in visiting
So much for always being open!
Thx for helping spread the word about my hound. I'm so thankful she's back home.
