PhotoHunt Theme: Hands

"HANDS" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
My daughter has very graceful HANDS with long, thin fingers. She majored in Art and I love watching her create things with her HANDS. She is expecting a baby son (her first baby and our first grandson) in the beginning of April. Here she was showing me a memory book for her baby. With her HANDS she will write down and preserve memories.
She also received a keepsake box. When her son is born, she will put in his picture and footprint with her HANDS. Inside there is room for a lock of his hair and anything else she wants to keep.
You can see how small the baby shoes are in her HAND. Her father always wears this type of shoe and has for many years. We can't wait to see them wearing their shoes together!
Three sets of hands were pictured here
while they were showing us how the new high chair raised and lowered.
My husband's HANDS are very talented with his bass guitar.
The picture is not very clear as his HANDS were flying over the strings.
Willow will only sit on my husband's lap.
She loves for him to pet her with his HANDS.
Wordy Wednesday Challenge
Today is the Wordy Wednesday Challenge created by Ann at Zoolatry.
~~~~~~
After everyone gave her a "word" describing their cat (and three dogs and one hamster) she made a gorgeous graphic featuring their word with a picture.
She ended up making 64 graphics for today! Very impressive!

PhotoHunt Theme: Yellow

"YELLOW" is the theme this week.
~~~
~~
Since Spring began here yesterday I am looking forward to seein
g
lots
of early Spring YELLOW flowers in today's PhotoHunt!
I even have a few myself!
~~~~~
Fir
st, though, I have a very important YELLOW and that is the caution sign. Whenever you see strips of YELLOW tape saying "caution" you know you need to be cautious! This YELLOW tape is around two holes that were dug by our water company to fix their leaking water pipe, which was unfortunately leaking into our basement. Thank goodness that was fixed, with no charge to us, and now the YELLOW caution tapes are gone. Hopefully by summer the lawn will also be fixed back to the way it was!
Last August we stayed overnight at a bed and breakfast, near our favorite winery, Sugar Creek. On some Friday nights in the summer the winery has a band playing from 7:00 until 10:00 pm. It looks so pretty as there are candles on all the tables and around the perimeter of the wine garden. Since we didn't want to drive home on the very curvy roads, we had made reservations at a local bread and breakfast. The next day we stopped by the local brewery for lunch and found all these lovely YELLOW Black-eyed Susans in the beer garden!
We had to try the brewery's Hefeweizen, which is an unfiltered wheat beer. It is one of my favorite beers and is generally served with a slice of YELLOW lemon. Actually the Hefeweizen is a golden shade of YELLOW, as is the golden mustard served with a pretzel.
My husband chose to have a very YELLOW mustard
on his bratwurst with sauerkraut.

Later that same August, we went to a beautiful park near our house.
We brought cheese and crackers to snack on and a bottle of
YELLOW Tail Chardonnay to enjoy the afternoon.

At Christmas time China Cat and Willow both got very possessive over a YELLOW catnip banana that they received. No cats were injured in the YELLOW Banana Tussle!

PhotoHunt Theme: Four

"FOUR" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
I like to take pictures at a pond near my house. There are usually geese and/or ducks in the pond when I go by there. As luck would have it, there were two geese and two ducks which of course fits for today's theme of FOUR. There were FOUR waterfowl by the pond.
And not only were there FOUR waterfowl but look...
there are FOUR trees in the pond!
Over at my favorite winery there were FOUR kittens...
...and FOUR cats!
PhotoHunt Theme: Space
"SPACE" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
One of the first SPACES that I see every morning is the SPACE o
n the driveway
where the newspaper is waiting for me to bring it in the house
to read w
ith my tea!In the kitchen the SPACE that I love is in my brand new Le Creuset pans and bakers. I love to cook and my husband gave me the cobalt blue dutch oven and pan for Christmas. I have already braised quite a few dishes with it, including oxtails and short ribs. The three bakers I got from my mother-in-law for my birthday. They are excellent for meatloaf and lasagna.This has to be one of my favorite outdoor SPACES --
the cooking area in
side the Big Green Egg. I love barbecue.
Click here to see some pictures of the Big Green Egg
(from PhotoHunt - Warm) in use.
Now, not being a cat, I don't know what is so special about this SPACE but both China Cat and Willow love to nap in the SPACE in the Office Max box top. I finally put a cushion in there because it seemed like it would be more comfortable for them -- plus there is now catnip inside the cushion! I know that they love that!China Cat loves the SPACE in the box,
particularly when the sun is shining!
Willow likes the SPACE in the box too.Sometimes you just want your own SPACE, even if you are a cat! As always, you can find more of Tnchick's Photohunters here!

Ginger Cattitude

When we drive to our favorite winery, Sugar Creek Winery, we pass through a small town on a 2-lane highway called Defiance. The houses remind me of farmhouses and a lot of them have front porches. This ginger tomcat was sitting on one of those porches. We pulled over to the side of the road so I could take a picture of him. This is not unusual - I frequently take pictures of cats that I don't know but my husband is used to it by now!

Anyway, right when I started taking the ginger tabby's picture, he noticed that there was a dog walking across the street. Well, that cat just sat there giving him a look like "Buddy, you had better just keep walking" and that's exactly what that dog did. It was great! But the look on that ginger's face with his turned down ear was priceless!
