PhotoHunt Theme: Furry

"FURRY" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
Leo, the ginger tabby, is the cat that I think of when I think of FURRY. He is a gorgeous, ginger tabby with long fur who lives with some of our best friends. Here he is under their Christmas Tree last Christmas. I have a lot of more FURRY pictures but it is getting late so I hope that you enjoy the one picture of Leo. I will post more later, as we are going to their house tomorrow to watch the Super Bowl!
My Birthday Card from China Cat and Willow
Today is my birthday so I made a card featuring China Cat & Willow.
I think that this is the birthday advice that they would give
if they could speak English!
PhotoHunt Theme: Chipped
"CHIPPED" is the theme this week.
R's red bass is an old Fender Musicmaster that he bought used in 1972 or 1973. It has been well used, so it was occasionally CHIPPED, but it can still sing a pretty song.
~~~~~
This is where the bass is kept on it's stand and not surprisingly, I had a picture of Willow near the bass. She doesn't care that it's CHIPPED.The red bass is CHIPPED here on the right side... CHIPPED here near the mid-bottom...CHIPPED here behind the strings... and CHIPPED here at the bottom.It's CHIPPED indeed!
Luckily that doesn't affect the sound!

Here is a picture that I took in September of 2007 in our backyard. If you look closely, you can see that the red bass was already CHIPPED in those four places back then. The black guitar is an American-made Fender Stratocaster that R bought new in 1976 and it is still unCHIPPED!
~~~~~
UPDATE: There was a comment wondering about the two guitars looking different. R is left-handed. The red bass is for a right-handed player however R has the strings set up as left-handed. When he bought the black guitar he had it custom-made to be left-handed.
Photohunt Theme: Hat(s)
"HAT(S)" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
I have many, many HATS of all different kinds. I considered placing them all on t
he yard to photograph all of them but it's only about 20 degrees Fahrenheit so that was not a good idea! However, I do have a small collection of HATS that I wear when running, mostly in the Spring, Summer and Fall but also in the Winter when it's not too cold. They are hanging on the back of the door to my library.
Here is one of my favorite dressy HATS. I have worn this hat to church at Christmas time, the red being very festive!
The next HAT is clearly very pink - my husband hates this HAT. Actually, I don't really care much for the color pink and I bought this HAT when I was shopping in a small antique store. The owner was there and started talking to me about her wares. I was looking at some red HATS and beaded mirrors. She said that she sold many red HATS to ladies of the Red HAT Society, however since I was under 50 at the time I could wear a pink HAT. So that is the only reason that I have a pink HAT. She was a good saleswoman! I think that I did wear this pink HAT for Easter one time. It does look rather Easter-y, indeed!
Willow couldn't stay out of the pictures any longer. When I put this hat down, she ran over and laid down on it. This is a hat that I bought when I was still in high school. The pheasant feathers were a lot longer then than they are now. One day I will have to count all of my hats and perhaps, take a picture of all of them on the lawn, when it gets warmer outside!~~~~~

Photohunt Theme: Aftermath

"AFTERMATH" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
I thought that this would be very difficult to come up with pictures for AFTERMATH. However, I think that I did find a few pictures for the them
e. Of course, I first thought of the AFTERMATH of wars and we go to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery every Memorial Day so I do have pictures of so many graves.
The AFTERMATH of the ice storm last winter was too much ice on the trees. Although it did look pretty at this local golf course.
Last fall my husband and I went to visit my parents who live in California. We met them at Lake Tahoe at their timeshare. One of the days while we were there, my husband and I drove all the way around Lake Tahoe - we had never been there before. Halfway around we stopped for lunch. Recently my husband had developed a liking for fish tacos and so he ordered the Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos. Unfortunately a few hours later, there was the AFTERMATH of the fish tacos. We guessed it was food poisoning as he became quite ill for a few days. I was really glad that I had ordered the Crab Chili Relleno... the AFTERMATH for me was that I was able to eat a good dinner that night while he still wasn't eating at all. Actually, it wasn't until New Year's Eve that he could even consider eating any seafood. He had some shrimp New Year's Eve but is still staying away from fish tacos.
China Cat & Willow always eat together but the difference is that Willow is a very messy eater. China Cat just eats from her bowl on the left until she has enough and she leaves the kitchen. Willow, on the other hand, goes back and forth from bowl to bowl, spilling food out of each bowl. It wouldn't be that bad except she will not eat food off of the floor. So the AFTERMATH of Willow eating is crunchy cat food all around the bowls! ~~~~~
PhotoHunt Theme: Hope
"HOPE" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
Our daughter was married in a lovely wedding ceremony six years ago in September. We had HOPE that it wouldn't rain as the ceremony was outdoors at a nearby park and rain was in the forecast. Luck must have been with us as the afternoon was beautiful and dry. The reception was at a church and we had HOPE that everyone would get there before the rain started. I think everyone made it in time before the rain poured down. My daughter mentioned that it is good luck for it to rain on the wedding day. We HOPE that the saying is true regarding bountiful blessings being showered down on the couple!
~~~~~
All her family and friends had HOPE
for a wonderful life for the bride and groo
m!~~~~~
Last August was our wedding anniversary -
my husband and I have been married for 25 years and HOPE,
as he wrote in my card, for at least 25 more!
We went out for dinner at Sidney Street Cafe, which is a very nice restaurant that we only go to for special occasions. After a delicious dinner, I had HOPE that I would have room for dessert after dinner! Our waiter knew it was our anniversary and surprised us with fudge cake and ice cream with a festive candle - yum! China Cat and Willow really HOPE for treats!~~~~~
