PhotoHunt Theme: Chipped

"CHIPPED" is the theme this week.
R's red bass is an old Fender Musicmaster that he bought used in 1972 or 1973. It has been well used, so it was occasionally CHIPPED, but it can still sing a pretty song.
~~~~~
This is where the bass is kept on it's stand and not surprisingly, I had a picture of Willow near the bass. She doesn't care that it's CHIPPED.The red bass is CHIPPED here on the right side... CHIPPED here near the mid-bottom...CHIPPED here behind the strings... and CHIPPED here at the bottom.It's CHIPPED indeed!
Luckily that doesn't affect the sound!
Here is a picture that I took in September of 2007 in our backyard. If you look closely, you can see that the red bass was already CHIPPED in those four places back then. The black guitar is an American-made Fender Stratocaster that R bought new in 1976 and it is still unCHIPPED!
~~~~~
UPDATE: There was a comment wondering about the two guitars looking different. R is left-handed. The red bass is for a right-handed player however R has the strings set up as left-handed. When he bought the black guitar he had it custom-made to be left-handed.

As always, you can find more of Tnchick's Photohunters here!

Well as long as it still has a great sound I guess it doesn't matter or does R obsess over ever chip.

Happy weekend Sammawow.

It may have chips, but it's still a very nice guitar. :) Thanks for visiting my PH at New York Traveler.net!

If it still sounds great then that is the main thing. I wish I could play more than 3 chords on a guitar or even attempt to pick up a bass! Happy weekend

@jmb - I asked R if he obsesses over the bass having chips and he said no, they add character! :)

Chipped means it has been well played. Thanks for stopping by. Happy weekend.

Its been "well loved". As long as it works who cares about a chip or two?

Built to last, chipped or not.

I'll bet it's actually well-loved, chips or not.

He's right, the chips add character. But I'm fascinated by the last picture - surely those instruments are for two different hands. Or am I wrong? I'm far from being an expert!

Thanks for visiting :)

That's a beautiful instrument and since it doesn't affect the sound it just adds character. Love the last shot too with both of the instruments.

What handsome guitars these are. Pretty original take on the theme. Am sure you're the only one doing guitars this week :D

Chipped and well-loved, great idea for this week's theme. I had no idea there were guitars for left and right handed people. I never thought about my son's violin, which has a few chips in it. Have a great weekend :)

Neat pics and very neat instruments, chipped or no! And of course Willow adds that something special, wherever she appears. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

I wouldn't even have noticed those chips if you hadn't pointed them out!
