PhotoHunt Theme: Hope

"HOPE" is the theme this week.
~~~~~
Our daughter was married in a lovely wedding ceremony six years ago in September. We had HOPE that it wouldn't rain as the ceremony was outdoors at a nearby park and rain was in the forecast. Luck must have been with us as the afternoon was beautiful and dry. The reception was at a church and we had HOPE that everyone would get there before the rain started. I think everyone made it in time before the rain poured down. My daughter mentioned that it is good luck for it to rain on the wedding day. We HOPE that the saying is true regarding bountiful blessings being showered down on the couple!
All her family and friends had HOPE
for a wonderful life for the bride and groo
m!~~~~~
Last August was our wedding anniversary -
my husband and I have been married for 25 years and HOPE,
as he wrote in my card, for at least 25 more!
We went out for dinner at Sidney Street Cafe, which is a very nice restaurant that we only go to for special occasions. After a delicious dinner, I had HOPE that I would have room for dessert after dinner! Our waiter knew it was our anniversary and surprised us with fudge cake and ice cream with a festive candle - yum! China Cat and Willow really HOPE for treats!~~~~~
As always, you can find more of Tnchick's Photohunters here!
How grand and romantic! I hope you have many more years!
re: your pilot light that won't stay lit... I was married to a gas technician for 22 years, together 27. I'm not a gas technician, of course, but a certain amount is absorbed... It sounds like you just need a new thermocouple. Cheap and easy, if that's all it is. I'll keep my fingers crossed that that's all it is!
Wonderful Hope photos and sentiments. I think the showers are a good thing. We will be celebrating 22 years this hear and it rained at on our wedding day so we ended up having photos inside instead of out. Those are very cute kitties when they hope.
I enjoyed this post and all the photographs. Great take on the hope theme. That is so lucky it didn't rain until after the outdoor wedding. Wishing you and yours all the best in the new year.
You daughter is right, it is supposed to be good luck for rain on a wedding day :)
And I would say I HOPE that you and your husband last another 25 years but I would say that I KNOW that it will.. after 25 years if it's still there is aint going no where :)))
That park where your daughter got married looks like one where a friend of mine got married sometime back! You don't happen to live in suburban Philadelphia, do you?! :O
Lovely post for the theme. Sammawow. I hope you make that 50th anniversary too. Mine is in 2011!
Thanks for all the nice wishes!
@willthink4wine - We'll try that thermocouple tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
@YTSL - No, the park where my daughter was married was not in Philadelphia but in the St. Louis County area. It's a beautiful park called Shaw's Nature Reserve right on the Meramec River, on the historic Route 66.
The cake looks so yummy and pretty, that rose is gorgeous, I love roses. The cats in their begging mode, mine use to set and beg this way. My husband is looking forward to Super Bowl XL also.
We also believe that rain during or after the wedding is a symbol of blessing.
An anniversary is always worth celebrating. Each year is a great gift.
