Time to Decorate...

While China Cat and Willow were totally opposed to dressing up for Halloween, they were fascinated with the Halloween decorations coming out of the basement! ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~

Wicked Halloween

I was having problems getting China Cat & Willow
dressed up for Halloween.
I wanted to enter them in Skeezix's Halloween Contest
but Willow was impossible
and China Cat was not really going for it either.
~~~~~
So this became their entry for the contest.
Happy Halloween!
Alice (I'm not fat!) as a Pig for Halloween
Alice joined Catster this week
so that she could enter Skeezix's Halloween Contest.
~~~~~
This handmade Pig costume fits 20 pound Alice quite nicely.
~~~~~
~~~~~
She thinks that she is a little kitty
and takes offense if one refers to her size!

PhotoHunt Theme: Pink

The PhotoHunters Theme this week is "pink" and this was easier for me
than "practical" was last week! I drink tea when I get up every morning.
As you can see my tea is a beautiful shade of pink!
~~~~~
Currently I am drinking Acai Green Tea by The Republic of Tea. It is a China Green Tea with Acai Berries. The label says that Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) Berries are one of the most nutritious fruits in the world. The berries grow on the Azaicero Palm Tree in the Amazon Rainforest. They are gathered for their powerful health benefits and have a rich flavor of concord grapes and ripe blueberries.
~~~~~
On my end table I also have some dried pink roses and a pink piggy bank. I have had this piggy bank since I was about 8 years old. I received the bank as a gift from some very good friends of my parents. My sister and I always called them "Aunt" and "Uncle" and we have kept in touch with them all of these years. My sister also got a piggy bank, just like mine, but hers was yellow. I wonder if she still has hers??? I'll have to find out!
~~~~~
And the little kitty has pink ears and pink paw pads!
Wednesday Night Pizza
We always have pizza on Wednesdays.
~~~~~
It all started with "The West Wing" in 1999. The show started at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights and that's when we would have dinner. After work, we would come home, change clothes, etc. and then order the pizza so it would arrive in time for the show.
~~~~~
For a couple of years we ordered pizza from various pizza places. Then for a while, we would pick up half-baked pizzas, so we could just put it in the oven when we were ready and not have to worry if the delivery boy might arrive after the show started.
~~~~~
Of course, that lead to our thoughts of "why can't we make our own pizza?" Our current phase of Wednesday Night Pizza is pizza made at home and barbecued in the Big Green Egg. That makes some really good pizza! For the past 3 weeks we have been having either the wheat or thin Boboli Pizza Crust that you can buy in any grocery store. That is topped with Boboli Pizza Sauce - it comes in a box with 3 pre-measured packs to fit right on the Boboli Pizza. To that we add pepperoni slices, provel cheese and roasted corn. Sometimes I add some chopped green chilies from a can, if I have them.
There you have it...
Pizza and Wine makes a great dinner...
Even though "The West Wing" ended May 14th, 2006!

RAMS GAME DAY 7: Rams @ Seahawks

UPDATE: Seahawks - W33 / Rams - L3

at Well, today's game is not until 3:15 p.m. CST
since we're playing on the West Coast.
~~~~~
I suggest that the Rams use the extra 3 hours
doing something postive; perhaps visualizing a W...
thinking positive thoughts about a W...
preparing for their 1st W this season!
~~~~~
GO RAMS!

PhotoHunt Theme: Practical & Weekend Cat Blogging

I kept thinking about this week's theme (practical) all week
and I couldn't come up with anything.
Until this morning, at 5:39 a.m., when I woke up
and I immediately had my idea for "practical"...
~~~~~
We had been installing a new sink and vanity in a bathroom,
with lots of snoopervision from Willow.
Naturally, when you are working with water,
you don't want it to spill all over.
So, a very practical way of keeping that water
where you want it is in a container.
So, here's to my practical container!
And, to Willow's snoopervision! Also, Weekend Cat Blogging is being hosted by Samantha
over at the New Tuxedo Gang Hideout.
PhotoHunt Theme: Smelly
Would you like to eat with feet right in your face? Ooh, smelly!
3rd Annual BBQ Contest
Smoke & Fire is where we got our "Big Green Egg"
and they recently hosted their 3rd annual BBQ Contest.
~~~~~
They started out with only a few competitors the first year and it was held in their parking lot. The second year the parking lot was overflowing with competitors. The smell of BBQ filled the whole area, which is a good smell, indeed!
~~~~~
So, for the third annual contest, they got out of the parking lot and held the contest in a nearby park. For the 2-day event, there were 80 participants from all over the country. It was estimated that there were approximately 7,000 visitors attending!
~~~~~
Boy, did that park smell heavenly!!!
~~~~~
~~~~~
The overall winners were as follows:
  1. Charlotte's Rib
  2. First Hand Smoke
  3. Off The Wall
  4. Doug Epley Team
  5. Steve McGrail BBQ
  6. Tony Marino Catering
  7. Carpe Porkem
  8. BBQ ASAP
  9. Frank Bowlin with Pigs Gone Wild
  10. Right On Q
Congratulations to all!

RAMS GAME DAY 5: Cardinals @ Rams & National Feline League

UPDATE: Cardinals W34 - Rams L31
Also, Patriots W34 - Browns - L17
(maybe Alice didn't help this week...)

at The Rams are having problems (to put it mildly) getting a win. It looks like one of our previous quarterbacks, Kurt Warner, will be starting for the Cardinals today. The Rams game is being blacked-out because we didn't sell out the Dome. There were still 3,500 tickets left by the deadline. So, I guess I'll be listening on the radio...
~~~~~
One of our fellow bloggers at Zoolatry has started
the National Feline League.
They did the following graphics
and if you head over to the National Feline League,
you can see the wonderful work they did on lots of teams for lots of felines! You may recall seeing Alice here before - she is my daughter's cat
and she weighs about 20 pounds. Well, my sister and brother-in-law are huge Cleveland Browns fans. China Cat & Willow are Rams fans, along with me so Alice graciously agreed to join the National Feline League with the Cleveland Browns.
~~~~~
I guess that Alice is a good fan as the Browns have been doing quite well!
Kashim & Othello are hosting Weekend Cat Blogging
over at Paulchen's Food Blog
Go check out all the kitties! You know you want to!

PhotoHunt Theme: Curvy

With a theme that is "curvy" I kept thinking about snakes and coils...
However we went to a beach in Cancun a few years ago
that curved around right in front of the hotel...
For Labor Day celebrations, we were lucky enough to see
the world famous Blue Angels;
here is one of their curves for the air show...
And finally, China Cat always can show off great curves,
just because she is a cat!
