WCB - Thanksgiving Edition

Weekend Cat Blogging begins today and it is the Thanksgiving Edition.
Therefore, China Cat and Willow were more than happy to make sure
that the turkey carcass was good to go for my Mom's Turkey Noodle Soup!

Then Willow checked it out...
~~~~~ Now I need to start the soup and you can surely head over
to The House of (Mostly) Black Cats
to see what all the other cats have been doing this week!

PhotoHunt Theme: Hot

This week the theme for Photo Hunters is "hot" and since it was just Thanksgiving, I immediately thought of the turkey fryer! For the past 10 years or so my in-laws have deep fried the Thanksgiving turkey. They used a big aluminum kettle with a propane hook-up. When we arrived in the morning to help fry the turkeys, we were surprised to see a new turkey fryer! This one is electric and you can set it to whatever temperature you want to heat the oil. In the pictures you can see that you would not want to do this in the house with all of the steam from the oil! And here you can see that turkey bubbling away!

I put out bird feeders filled with bird food right outside my office window. There aren't any birds right now but China Cat and Willow really enjoy the view here, sometimes watching birds and squirrels up close! ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ And don't forget,

This week's Photo Hunt was a "fill in the blank" starting with I love _____.
I thought of all of the usual answers to this first.
Of course I love my family, friends and, not surprisingly, my cats! So what I came up with after my first thoughts was a love that has been a constant my whole entire life: Reading!

I remember my parents reading books to me when I was little. When I was two, my sister was born and my mother has pictures of me reading books to my little baby sister. I remember going to the book mobile after I started school. One time I checked out my four books and took them home to read. I finished them and went back to the book mobile the same day to check out more books. My family teases me because I never go anywhere without "reading material". Every weekend that we go to the Winery, I bring a stack of cooking magazines. We have found some delicious recipes doing this!

One of my great fears would be getting stuck somewhere
with nothing to read.
Novels, cookbooks, biographical books, menus, cereal boxes...
I'll read anything!
What a thrill for me it was when I discovered
that I could also read blogs!

Seahawks for my Mom!

Mom, I guess the whammy worked...
Seahawks won 24-0

My mother is a fan of the Seahawks tonight
(think football pool!)
so China Cat and Willow agreed to help out
with their laser-eyed whammy at the 49ers.
Now, this is truly only helping out
as China Cat and Willow are true blue Rams fans.

BTW, the Rams are no longer winless this season!
Hey, 1-8 isn't that bad
and there are still quite a few more games for the Rams to win!
