Halloween House

Here is the front of my house and a close-up of the front window. The pumpkins are out front, of course. And then I switched something on the camera by mistake and this is how the pumpkins looked! I have no idea what I did but it turned out to be a pretty cool picture!

My other pumpkins

After I finished my first pumpkin on Monday, I was able to carve 2 more pumpkins. I had to carve a pirate pumpkin since "Pirates of the Caribbean" came out. On the news they said that pirate costumes were the number one costume this year. This is a bat hanging upside down in his pumpkin cave. And here are all 3 pumpkins of Halloween 2006. I would have carved the other 2 pumpkins but I ran out of time.
So I just might do a "turkey" one for Thanksgiving -- if the pumpkin lasts that long.

Some Halloween Pets

This is Biscuit, my in-law's dog. She was actually dressed in bunny ears by my nephew for Easter a few years back but I think that it would also make a good Halloween costume! The last time I posted about Biscuit was when she had a cast on her leg.
She is all better now and I'll have to find some more pictures to post of her.

My cats don't really like to dress up but I do have some Halloween pictures of them.

And I'm still working on the "dressing up part" although so far they are not exactly cooperating!

Hooray -- It's Halloween!!!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.

I like the dressing up and

the witches and

the cats and

the pumpkins and

the candy and

of course, chili for dinner!

But I don't like haunted houses!

The 1st Pumpkin Carved

As I mentioned on Saturday, we got 5 pumpkins from Rombach's Farm and I was still deciding what type of jack-o-lanterns to carve.

Well, here is the first pumpkin that I carved:
And this is what it looks like with a candle in it:
Pretty scary, mm-hmm????
Only 4 more pumpkins to go.....And Halloween only 1 day away!

Saturday is also Babler Park Day

After going to Rombach's Farm for pumpkins,
we went through
Babler Park to look at the fall foliage.

Pumpkin Patch Time Again

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch at Rombach's Farm for our Halloween Pumpkins. And then after we found the pumpkins we wanted, we cruised over to Babler Park to see the fall foliage.

Graphic from D's Designs

We have gone to get pumpkins here for at least 25 years! At the farm they have more than just pumpkins. There are strange things in trees, as seen here.

There is even the witch from "The Wizard of Oz".

This year we got 5 pumpkins:
2 large orange, 2 medium orange and 1 medium white
I'm still deciding how to carve them.

"Time is a companion....."

My first thought on time today is that I don't remember the last time I slept so late. I just got up at 8:27 AM and usually I am up between 5:00 and 5:30, 6:00 at the latest. But we have been watching the Cardinals in the World Series this week and I guess it caught up with me today!
Also, today is daylight savings time again. I found this quote that I like regarding time being a companion.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard:

Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived.

Your Brain

I just found this Brain Quiz. It shows you 9 different patterns
and you pick the one that most appeals to you.
I couldn't decide between the following 2 patterns
so I picked them both.

Your Brain's Pattern

You have a dreamy mind, full of fancy and fantasy.
You have the ability to stay forever entertained with your thoughts.
People may say you're hard to read, but that's because you're so internally focused.
But when you do share what you're thinking, people are impressed with your imagination.

Your Brain's Pattern

Your mind is a creative hotbed of artistic talent.
You're always making pictures in your mind, especially when you're bored.
You are easily inspired to think colorful, interesting thoughts.
And although it may be hard to express these thoughts, it won't always be.

Try it -- it's fun!

Didn't Rain Tonight

We Did It Tonight
And We're Ready for the next Game!!!!!

From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
One word of caution, Cardinals fans: St. Louis had a 3-1 lead in '68, too, before Detroit rallied to win behind lefty Mickey Lolich.

Rained Out World Series

Last night the weather just wouldn't cooperate
so that we could (hopefully) beat the Tigers.
And our weathermen are saying we may have a problem tonight.
But If we can play, my friends here are ready for a win!

10 Days until Halloween!

Since there are only 10 days until Halloween,
you might want to know what your horoscope says...

Mine is Aquarius and you can click here
to find out your horoscope!

Halloween Horoscope for Aquarius

Halloween is your chance to bring your favorite futuristic world to life.

In fact, people are often asking "What exactly *are* you?"

Costume suggestions: Anyone from Star Wars or the Matrix

Signature Halloween candy: Gummy eyeballs

What's Your Halloween Horoscope?

And I really hope that it doesn't rain this year like it did last year.

Although that meant that we had a LOT of candy leftover.
Hopefully the kids will get it this year -- we don't need it!

Lunch in Mexico after Shopping

We have the chicken chimichanga

and the margarita
