Farewell Dear Friends

When I first started my blog, I found Fat Eric - The Gorgeous Ginger and Luxor - A White Cat. Fat Eric was a big and floofy ginger and white cat who started the Gorgeous Gingers. I have a gorgeous ginger named China Cat Sunflower so we became members right away. Luxor was the most elegant and most beautifully photographed white cat that I have ever seen. Sadly, they are both off to the Rainbow Bridge but they will be in our hearts forever.

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You’ve left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you’re always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.

Violette Noelle

This is a very sad day.
Little Violette Noelle will be laid to rest.
In memory of "Sprout" my blog is violet today.
Please keep Monty Q and his family in your thoughts
and as requested we will wear violet for Violette.

Sweet Sprout

Tracey and family,
you are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Lily
Ellen Brenneman

We can’t know why the lily has so brief a time to bloom in
the warmth of the sunlight’s kiss upon its face, before it
folds its fragrance in and bids the world goodnight to
rest its beauty in a gentler place.

But we know that nothing that is loved is ever lost, and
no one who has ever touched a heart can really pass
away, because some beauty lingers on in each memory of
which they’ve ever been a part.

Farewell, my Friend, for now...

It was with great sadness that I found out that Sher of What Did You Eat? passed away suddenly this morning.

Her blog was one of the very first food blogs I started reading a few years ago. She always had wonderful recipes, beautiful pictures and stories. Of course, I always looked forward to seeing what her dear cat Upsie was doing in each edition of Weekend Cat Blogging, which they hosted many times. Also, there was sweet Sundance, Pumpkin and the squirrels, and later mischievous Laura, who all graced the posts of her blog. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all of us who will miss her so much.

Hearts are breaking...

With sadness,
we just found out from Astrid, Kashim & Othello
that Upsie is no longer with us.
Upsie was one of the first cats I knew from Weekend Cat Blogging
and I have enjoyed the pictures and the stories of Upsie
for the past two years.
Sundance also left us too soon
but now Upsie and Sundance are together again.

A Prayer for Animals

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for animals that are overworked, underfed and cruelly treated;
for all wistful creatures in captivity that beat their wings against bars;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals,
and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

WCB #114 Sundance and Sammawow

It's time for WCB #114 and it's being hosted over at What Did You Eat?
It has been a very sad weekend over there for Sher and Upsie
as sweet Sundance was diagnosed with FIP
and has now gone over the Bridge.
My previous cat, Samantha, is who this blog is named for
as she always said Ma-Wow instead of Meow.
So we ended up calling her Sammawow quite a lot.
She was a very sweet kitty to only a few people.
In fact, most people didn't really like her
because she had a tendency to hiss and bite.
She just didn't like changes at all.
But she really loved us and she was a great lap cat,
until a noise scared her!
I was scratched, accidentally, quite a few times
when she would leap from my lap.
And, of course, we still miss her...

Chatham

With heavy hearts, we must say goodbye to Chatham. We just met him at his 20th birthday party and our thoughts and prayers are with his beloved Cat Couch and Salem and Dad...
