Willow's 10th Birthday

Today would have been Willow's 10th Birthday. 

She went to the Rainbow Bridge last year on March 30, 2013. I still miss her so much that I wanted to post the pictures I took of her and her 3rd Birthday Cake... Willow's Birthday was also China Cat's Gotcha Day. I found her at my office in 1998 when she was about 6 months old. She went to the Rainbow Bridge last year on June 30, 2013. She is also missed very much! I am so happy to have Spike William with us now. He just turned 1 on January 30th and he is a very loving and playful classic ginger tabby.

So it was finally my birthday
and I couldn't even use the computer
to show all the fun that I had on my birthday.
My Food Lady made me a beautiful cake
that is like a caricature of me. I slept on the big bed for a while with China Cat
and she washed my face for me
so that I would look wonderful in my birthday pictures. It snowed on my birthday
and I went outside to look at it
and actually sat down in the snow
in my screened-in porch. China Cat and I were each given
the leftovers of tuna cans.
I had decided that I wanted tuna
for my birthday dinner
so my Food Lady chose
to make a Tuna Noodle Casserole
for their dinner.
The Big Janitor really likes that Tuna Noodle Casserole.The tuna was so good but I actually had to do a lot of washing
after to get every tuna taste! The last part of the birthday evening
I was given very fresh catnip -
Here am I rolling and loving every nippy smell of it!

Charlie, the ginger tabby squillion, and Sadie Katie, the gray squillion, decided to have their friends over for a St. Patrick's Day Tea Party!

China Cat is 16 Today!

It's just Too Hot!

The first week in July was absolutely miserable with way too much heat!

Temperatures over 100 F. every day!

The cats are hoping for a Quiet Night!

UPDATE: July 5th, 2012

The cats were very happy to have a quiet night! With the temperatures over 100 F. and no rain for the past few weeks all of the cities around us had to cancel their fireworks. Only Fair St. Louis had fireworks shot from a barge in the river. 

We watched them on TV and the cats don't care about TV noise!

China Cat's Word is Snuggly!

She loves snuggling, whether it is in one of her many cat beds, or on the furniture covered with her crocheted blanket - she is one Snuggly Cat! She also loves to snuggle in our bed under my soft white blanket until the afternoon sun comes in the window. Then she snuggles on top of the blanket in the sunshine. She also is very snuggly with Willow. They are always curled up together all cute and snuggly!

Willow's Word is Vocal!

Willow is a very talkative cat, especially when her food bowl is empty! She will sit with her back in the corner and their two food bowls and one water bowl in front of her. As she sits there, she meows and meows and meows... It drives my husband crazy but as he says, "I don't feed cats!" That's fine with me because I like feeding cats - Willow gets her huge purr going as soon as the food goes in the bowl! Willow is also very vocal in the evening around 9:00 PM when she starts her meowing for treats. The treats are in the cabinet below the TV so she sits in front of it and paws on the cabinet, meowing. If I don't get her treats right away, she will come over to me on the couch, stand up on her hind legs and tap me with her front paw and Meow!

Groundhog Day 2011

It's supposed to go down to -3 degrees F. here overnight tonight, after staying pretty much at 23 degrees F. all day! We didn't get as much snow as they were predicting but there is quite a bit of ice. Luckily, we didn't lose power today!

Punxsatawney Phil did not see his shadow this morning and China Cat and Willow will be thrilled that Spring should be here soon! And tonight we get to have our annual favorite, Punxsatawney Pasta Fazool, in honor of Phil. You can find my recipe here.
